My mom gave me these pewter hearts and I carry them with me in my pocket. The hearts are intertwined and each one says, “your heart is within my heart is within.” The words fit exactly on each heart so that they continually flow around and around, never ending. I liked this sentiment so much that I gave my mom the same set of hearts the December before she passed away. When she went into the hospital, I carried both sets of hearts in my pocket.

I accidentally left these hearts in a TSA bin at the airport. I was very upset at the time, but after talking with a friend I realized that maybe I didn't really need them anymore and that they would find their way to someone who needed them more.
I completed this photo project from May 2009 to May 2010. Six years later, I'm reposting the series with additional thoughts. Here's what I wrote about it when I started.
